I'm not an alien!
"People look at me as if I'm an alien but that doesn't bother me to follow my dreams or
pursue what I want to! I've been inflicted with cerebral palsy since birth and it has
been a hindrance to my day to day physical activities but mentally, I'm perfectly sound.
Even after a year of my birth, I couldn't sit on my own and that became a matter of concern for my parents.
They took me to various doctors, but all of them had the same answer that this disability is for the lifetime.
My parents did their best to give me normal life. 2-3 out of 1000 people are born with cerebral palsy & I'm one of them!
My family took me to Mandu in Madhya Pradesh 10 years back when I got comfortable using
wheelchair & since then I realized that with this wheelchair I can do wonders. I have
travelled a lot as my mom is tracking professional.
I'm 32 years old & my younger sister Sargam takes care of me like an elder sister!
She took up medicine for me because I had desire to be one and now she’s a graduate
in MBBS and that swells my chest with pride. During her studies I stay awake for her
and see her study. Our love was always strong but it became stronger! I love her the most!
She often used to argue with people who stared at my disability. I've made her understand
that I'm destined to this condition and I'm totally living my life to the fullest with a positive approach.
People staring at me is nothing to worry about!
I cannot write but I can surely understand & speak in parts . I was pushed to maintain my diary of daily happenings of life. My father helped me with writing while I dictated my life story.
For the sense of achievement I have written a book “I too can fly” which has my life incidences, small anecdotes and an acknowledgement to all my loved ones who supported me in my depressed phase. I'm a happy bird flying high!
I'm an absolute movie lover and a filmy girl all the time. I love Ranbir Kapoor, he's my favourite!
Life has ups and downs but that's what life is all about! I wish to open a restaurant & a club for physically disabled people where they can learn and grow!
